A reading incentive program and book-based quiz competition.

Book Fair
An in-school event transforms the MPR into a bookshop for students to browse and buy. Proceeds go back to Poinsettia's library.

Copa de Carlsbad
1-day SOCCER tournament with group play, semis, and finals, featuring all of the Carlsbad Elementary schools.

Kinder/TK Welcome
Meet & greet with your student's teacher. Usually held the day before school starts.

Father Daughter Dance
A memorable Spring evening of music, dancing, photos, concessions, and lots of fun!

Garden Club
Help tend our beautiful campus garden throughout the year while growing various fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Geography Bee
4th & 5th graders test their knowledge of national and international geography. The champion advances toward the State competition.

Halloween Parade
We are re-introducing a Halloween parade where students get to express their creativity, celebrate their culture, dress up as their favorite character and just have some good ol' fashion fun.

Jog-A-Thon
Our biggest & most exciting fundraiser of the year! Each spring, Poinsettia students raise money through pledges for the Jog-A-Thon. This is a no-pressure event that is fun for students and an excellent opportunity for extended family/friends to sponsor our students.

Math Olympiad
Join a team for fun challenges and competitions for students who love math and problem-solving.

Mini March Madness
A district-wide basketball tournament in March showcases 5th graders from all 9 Carlsbad elementary schools.

Mother Son Event
A fun Spring activity-filled afternoon for sons and any leading lady in their life. Anything from bowling, to laser tag, to field games.

Movie Night
Get to know Poinsettia friends at the start of school. Bring your dinner (or purchase snacks on site) and enjoy a movie on the lawn.

Popsicles
Friday popsicle program to reward kids for a week well done. A percentage of all sales will go directly back to Poinsettia.

Red Ribbon Week
Celebrate healthy living choices through various school events and assemblies throughout the entire week of Oct 23-31.

Science Fair
Calling all junior scientists to explore and discover the world of science. Show off your project and participate in a local competition.

Seasonal Donation Drive
Moments in the year when the community comes together to give back to others in need. This could be anything from a Holiday Food Drive or Military Gift Cards.

Spelling Bee
3rd-5th grade students compete in a supportive environment to improve their spelling and enhance their vocabulary.
